Other Influences That Increased My Love for MAGIC

One Christmas in the early '40s, "Santa" gave me a Gilbert "Mysto Magic" Set. My father (Paul Vern Partington) also had a couple of friends who were magicians. One worked for a local bakery, and the other was a professional magician by the name of "Russell Murdock". Both of these men were from Anderson, Indiana. I also continued to see Harry Blackstone, Sr. in Anderson and Indianapolis, In..

My Favorite Magician, DON ALAN

A short time ago we lost Don to Alzhiemers. The most entertaining close-up magicians I have ever seen! The lesson I learned from Don was BE ORIGINAL!! His famous qoute was, "I know this magician who.....................!!!!" In other words BE DIFFERENT and DON'T COPY!!!
The best thing I learned from Harry, Jr., is how important "Stage Presence" is! Also always be YOURSELF!! (Harry Jr. passed away a short time ago, Gay and his daughter are are still involved in the magic business....We all miss Harry Jr..)

Harry, Jr. and his lovely wife,

A Mind Reading Mystery?

  1. Think of a number from 1 to 10.
  2. Multiply that number by 9. If the number is a 2-digit number, add the digits together. Now subtract 5.
  3. Determine which letter in the alphabet corresponds to the number you ended up with (example: 1=A, 2=B, 3=C, etc.)
  4. Think of a country that starts with that letter.
  5. Remember the last letter of that country.
  6. Think of the a name of an animal that starts with that letter. Remember the last letter in the name of that animal.
  7. Think of the name of a fruit that starts with that letter.
